Announcements

Mike Mikolayek:  Mike reported on the account that he has established for LRV residents at the Sherwin Williams Store on Route 27.  The account number will be available at the Office.  He reported the following info on the paint that will be available: (there will be ten standard colors with trim) If you do not like these colors, it will have to be approved by the BOD.  A100 house paint (satin finish) - $29.96.  He recommends a satin finish because it does not attract dirt like a flat finish.  Super paint satin finish (next step up) - $36.96.  Interior paint super paint finish latex (washes very well) - $34.95; also, ProMar (professional coatings) eggshell 200 (high end) - $28.45 and their 400 satin finish - $23.25.  Also give us a 15% discount on supplies.  Mike is also looking into a company to give us a price on vertical blinds and pull-down blinds; also, a carpeting and flooring company. He is also investigating a guy who will power wash, do caulking as needed and paint your house for $1,000 (you supply the paint). Preparation is key to a successful painting job.  Power washing is the most important part. Mike does not recommend using bleach or chlorine to power wash your house.  Sherwin Williams has a product, Simply Green. It is a concentrate that you can put in your garden sprayer, spray it on; 30 minutes later you are ready to power wash.  It is safe for the plants and shrubs.  Any questions contact Mike.  The account number with ten approved color samples are available in the Sales Office.

Jerry Sammon, VP Board of Directors: Jerry wants to dispel a couple of rumors going around. First, the rumor going around that the Office has sent our 150 to 190 letters from the Clean-up Committee. This has been going on for weeks.  The first week they sent out 7 letters.  Secondly, totally over 4 weeks they have sent our 25 letters.  No big deal.  However, Polk County and the Health Department were in here yesterday and they have written us up for several places.  The question, therefore, is do you want to deal with the Clean-up Committee (which has to go through at least 3 levels of people before you get a letter) where you can be charge $100 a day with a max of $1,000 – OR deal with Polk County (who is looking for the same infractions as the BOD); they have one person doing the inspection; they will notify the BOD and we will notify you and if you do not clean it up the fine will be $500 a day with not limit and a summons to court and you will have to pay legal fees. Now you have a choice to clean up your home or deal with the County.

Shirley Moore, Red Hatters:  Red Hatters will be going to lunch at Southern Dunes on Monday, July 25 (Please note the change of date).  They will leave the park at 11:30 am.  A new tradition has been started – they are NOW going to have a door prize every month. All ladies are invited to participate.  If you do not have a red hat. Shirley still has a couple at home.

          5 @ 5:  5 @ 5 will be serving taco salads this Friday evening at 5 pm for $5.

Thought for the week

“Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets.

So, love the people who treat you right,

forgive the ones who don’t

and believe that everything happens for a reason.

If you get the chance, take it.

If it changes your life, let it.

Nobody said it would be easy,

they just promised it would be worth it.”

~ Dr. Seuss
