I received an email from Jan Peskie.  She and Joe will not be here in LRV until Sunday, January 8.  Chair Yoga starts on Monday, January 9.  She asked me to remind everyone that classes will begin on Monday, January 9, 11:00 until 12:00 noon and will meet weekly for 8 weeks.  Chair yoga may help to strengthen muscles, ease still joints and improved balance using seated and standing stretches and poses with chair support.  No yoga is done down on the floor.  Bring 1#-4# hand weights or you may substitute a 16 oz can or plastic bottle.  A non-slip rug or yoga mat is also needed; a yoga strap or bathrobe belt are also recommended.  Prayerful meditations are incorporated for a peaceful experience.  The class is suitable for most individuals.

Barbara Swearingen, Oak Trail, has knee replacement surgery on Tuesday.  She came home the same day and it doing well.  Dave and their daughter-in-law, Michelle from Peoria, IL, are taking very good care of her.

Vicki Hamblen, Bay Terrace, had a stent put in yesterday at Winter Haven Hospital.  Wayne reported last evening that all went well and she was resting comfortably in her room.

Wanda Murphy, Keystone, is still in Celebration Hospital and will probably be there for another week.  She is getting better but it is slow.  They have been taking fluid off her lungs.  She will be there until her lungs are clear.  She told me she had a good day yesterday.  She was able to get some sleep.  The doctor inserted another round of clot busting medicine.  Also, she has been setting up and walking around.  She says “Thank you!!” for all the prayers.

Barbara Farrar, By, is in Winter Haven Hospital.  She has been experiencing a-fib.  She hopes to come home by the end of the week.

I received word yesterday of the death of Sarah Mauk.  Sarah was a longtime resident at 447 Sycamore until she went to live with her daughter in South Dakota.  Sarah was 88 years old.  She is survived by her daughter Connie and son Ricky. Sarah will be transferred back to Pennsylvania for burial.  Cards can be sent to Connie Mickelson, P O Box 46, Enning, South Dakota 57737.

Last evening, I received the news of Michelle Villeneuve, formerly snowbird at 377 Hawkeye, passed.  Michelle and John’s home was in Canada.  Michelle was 75 years old.  She was survived by her husband Jean as well as a son and daughter.  Jean and Michelle taught ballroom dancing for several years here in the Clubhouse.  Card and words of sympathy can be sent to Jean at:  14A Leblanc Street, Mashame QC J0X2W0, Canada

Also, I am sorry to report the death of Stella Koronas, 326 Aloha last week.  I do not have any further information at this time.
