6/2/2022 Coffee News Update

UPDATE 2022

Betty Akerman :  Betty reminded us of the need to be prepared for hurricane season.  There is a check list of things that should be in your emergency preparedness kit on the cabinets in the Card Room.  If we are going to have a hurricane, we encourage you to leave and shelter (local hotel or shelter designated by Polk County). No matter the hurricane category a manufactured home is not safe in a hurricane.  If you chose to shelter in place, you are on your own.  Emergency Services do not operate until the storm has passed.  Make sure your contact information is up to date at the office before leaving the park.  Be Prepared!!  Website:  floridarevenue.com has a list of all the items that are tax free until June 10.  Information is also available on floridadisaster.org and polkcounty.net/emergencymanagement.  The special needs shelters for those who needs these services.  If you have neighbor or friends who needs these services, please make them aware of this and make sure they have a plan.  Polk County is very good with this, but you do need to register for this service.   Plan for the worst and hope for the best.  Have a Plan.  After a storm we will looking for volunteers for help with the cleanup.
