Announcements

Michael announced for Glenn Edgin that the water will be shut off from Wolverine to the west from 12 noon until 2 pm today; the Lake Region calendar on the website is up and running.   It is fully functional thanks to Betty Akerman, Bonnie Jorgenson and Shari Haines.  The calendar is on lakeregionvillage.com

Mike Mikolayek, Social Club Director:  Mike that from September 22 – 24 the floor of the stage will be resurfaced.  There will be a “smell” as we will be using an oil-based polyurethane (DON’T COMPLAIN).  Also, about the paint that you can purchased from Sherwin Williams, down on 27 next to Bargain Carts at a considerable discount.  The account number is #635469596. This information and the 10 colors with trim paint that you can use.  If you want a different color than those 10, it MUST be Ok’ed by the Board. Mike highly recommends A100 for $21.96.  The key to any successful paint job is preparation – it must be power washed and he recommends “Simply Green”.

The Social Club will be having some guest speakers at the monthly meeting starting in October.  October will be Jim Weaver “Why you should have a trust and not a will”.  In November the speaker will be “Brick of American”; he will talk about pavers and ceramic tile.  In January that speaker will be “Farm Insurance Agency”.  He represents 7 different companies who provide insurance for mobile homes.  These presentations will be during a regular Social Club Meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

Betty Akerman:  Betty announced that this Friday night at the Hammock the Pateo will be serving chili cheese dogs at 5 @ 5.  Please note:  If it is raining at 4 pm, it will be cancelled.

Barb Swearingen:  The Employee Appreciation Picnic will be held on Saturday, October 1 at the Hammock from 1 to 4 pm.   We will be recognizing our employees Cindy and Sarah in the office and our maintenance men Raymond, Tony, Emanuel, and Gabriel.  They will all be here with their families for us all to meet them.  Lunch will be served at 2 pm.  Bring your own beverage; everything else will be provided.  After lunch you are welcome to join the families at the pool or you can stay at the Hammock and socialize.  There is a sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board and we ask that you please sign up and secure a ticket from Barb, Betty Akerman, Carla Byers or Mary Anne Sammon.  This will enable to have an accurate count.  The menu will include chicken, a taco bar and dessert.  It is free to all.
