It is always wonderful to go visit family and friends, but it is really great to come home and sleep in your own bed. We had a wonderful visit with all our family; celebrated our older son’s retirement after completing 30+ years in education; celebrated birthdays with our younger son and youngest granddaughter; and, of course, got to hold and spoil our great grandson. Thanks to Barb Norsen for helping me with Serendipity the last two week.
Alice Berhle, Mustang, has hip replacement surgery this week. She is home recuperating and I am sure there is some rehab in her future.
May Freeman, Garden, is now in a rehab facility and doing well.
As you go about this week, please keep the family and those 18 children and teachers who were killed this week in the elementary school in Texas in our prayers. I worked in a high school for 28 years, our son just retired from teaching and administration for 30+ years in an Illinois high school and our oldest granddaughter is completing her 4th year of teaching in a high school. These events that keep happening in our schools and they are not acceptable. Schools should and must be a safe place for our children and those who work there.
