Lake Region Village Koffee News – May 19, 2022
There was 88 in attendance
Michael Jorgensen was the MC today
Today we had to pay for our own donuts and coffee.
Kim Burch – Kim introduced us to new resident Helen McKee who is a snowbird and resides at 317 Beaver with Gary O’Neil. Helen is the daughter of Larry Strait. There were no visitors today.
Serendipity: It has been reported that Mary Chamberlain, of 172 Keystone, passed away Tuesday. She was 96. She leaves 4 daughters and 1 son. Words of condolences can be sent to her daughter Marjorie Bisognano, 16 Brassie Way, North Reading, MA. 01864. A moment of silence for Mary please.
Also, I am sorry to report that Kim Burch’s brother, Dave Knott, died May 3rd, suddenly after 54 years of type 1 diabetes and the ravages of long haul covid. We think his heart just gave out on him. He leaves a wife Abby, a son Chris (wife Sarah) their 4 daughters, and his 3 sisters. He was 65 years old and just retired in January. Kim and Ike will be going up to Indiana June 3-6 for his celebration of life.
I spoke with Chris Laneuville and she reports that Larry is still on hospice in their home. Larry can’t swallow food and is on liquids only. She has received several cards and was very happy to know that so many people care. I will keep you informed on updates that I receive.
On a happy note: Patty Singer said she had a friend visit here and was happy to see how everyone is so friendly and is thinking of moving here.
Barb Norsen also said that she has friends from Kissimmee who are selling their condo and have put an offer in on a home on LRV.

Announcements
Charlie Sponcil has received word from Richard Horner who wants to let everyone know of their email address. It is hornergroup@gmail.com. Charlie also wanted us to know that the clubhouse will be open during hurricane and tornado warnings, however, there will not be no over night stay. If you have any questions, please contact Candy Straebel. Publix has a list of all the shelters in Polk County. If you are on oxygen, or need help to get around, or need help with medications you will need to go to one of those safe places during these storms. Someone will pick you up and take you there. Candy is having an informational meeting tomorrow in the clubhouse. Please call Candy for the time. Her number is 856-392-6643.

My Thought for the week: What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
