I received a phone call from Judi Worden, Bay Terrace, before they left for Wisconsin on Tuesday. She wanted me to convene her thanks and appreciation for all the cards, visits, food and prayers that they received following her accident.
I am sorry to report the death of Geraldine Jensen, 436 Aloha on April 12. Gerry was 88 years old and originally from Michigan. She was a member of the LRV Quilt Club, loved to play cards and bunco. Gerry is survived by three sons, Michael, Mark and Scott. Michael and his wife, Amy, are full time residents here at LRV on Empire. Gerry had 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services for Gerry will be held at a later date in Michigan.
Also, I have to report the death of Joe Whitesell. Joe and Martha have been renters here in LRV for many years. Joe celebrated his 79th birthday here with us on March 31 before they returned to Indiana. Joe is survived by his wife, Martha, and a son, Brian. He is also survived by three granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren and 6 siblings. Services for Joe will be held on
April 23 in Dana, IN. Cards and words of sympathy can be sent to Martha at P O Box 1411, Dana, IN 47847.
A moment of silence in honor of Geraldine Jensen and Joseph Whitesell.
My happy news today come from Rick and Joanne Maag, 514 Sycamore. Joanne tells me their grandson. Brady, competed in the Ohio State and national wrestling tournament this month. Announcements
Tony & Chuck Enlow: Tony stressed that when you are using the PA system here in the Main Room of the Clubhouse, you must remember to turn the switch “off” when you are done. If this is not done, the equipment can overheat and be ruined. Chuck stressed also that this has to be done or it may be necessary to put a locked cover over the switch.
Richard Horner: The Piano Fund has reached $6,000; still need $3,000. Checks can be made out to “LRV Social Club” with “Piano Fund” in the memo. Richard and Elaine will be leaving next Monday and he would like to have that all wiped out before they go. Sunday morning at 8 am will be the last Sunday Service until the American Consulate allows them to come back. They have applied for a Christian workers Visa and their appointment is August 3. They hope to get clearance to return by Labor Day. The Sunday Services will begin again.
Rick Maag, Bingo Committee & Boat Club: There will be Bingo today at 1 pm and the new cards have come in. The new cards and the upgrades to the Bingo machine were made possible by the Clubs and individuals who donated to this project. They were very much appreciated.
In order to have a more pleasing Marina, the Boat Club has decided that it needs more uniformity as far as color. Each individual will need to paint or stain their dock. They have chosen the color “fawn rendell” available at Lowe’s and Sherwin Williams. Rick has color swatches available.

Thought for the week
Do things for people not because for who they are
Or what they do in return,
But because of who you are.
