Lanny Hegadorn was the MC today

Attendance – 240

Kim Burch, New Residents: Kim introduced Ron and Judy Klimek, new snowbird residents at 174 Keystone, from Wisconsin.

Kim reported that the printing continues on our directory.

Visitors:  Lois Aldefer introduced her son, Jeff, and his wife Tammy from Muncie, IN.  Jerry Sammon introduced their son, Scott, from Minnesota.

Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we can thank Mike & Barbara Sadler in celebration of their 53rd wedding anniversary on the 8th and Margaret Kaufman in celebration of her birthday on March 12th.  And, of course, when someone buys the donuts and muffins, the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.

Today have I another happy event to share with you from our residents.  Samuel Moorehead is a 15-year-old freshman at Hudsonville High School in Michigan.  He is the grandson of Roger and Debbie Miller and the great grandson of Phyliss Rogers at 289 Garden Lane.  Samuel is on the Hudsonville High School Robotics Team.  Last weekend his four-member team won the Michigan High School Robotics State Championship.  This qualifies them to compete in the World High School Robotic Championship in May in Dallas, Texas.

A little personal happy news.  Bruce and I will be going to the airport on Saturday to pick up our oldest granddaughter, Kayla, and her husband, Matt, as well as great grandson, Peyton.  So, if you see me smiling more next week you will know why.

Bob Miller, 396 Sunshine, is in Heart of Florida Hospital.  Hopefully he will be coming home today.

Barb Norsen, 207 Orchid, had knee replacement surgery yesterday.  She reports that she went to the hospital 5:30 am and at 7:30 am they took me in for a full knee replacement.  All went well and she left the hospital at 3:30 pm.   She is doing good and thanks all for your prayers.

Any more health concerns that anyone wants to share this morning.

Betty feels that a lot of folks got a lot of good information from the fair.  Thanks again!!

Today there will be two (2) Bingo sessions – one at 1 pm and the other in the evening at 6 pm; both will be quarter Bingo using the Cards.  We are excited about getting the Bingo Machine repurposed up to today’s standards, not having to worry about part we can no longer get to repair it with, etc.  We will be utilizing equipment that we already have on hand here in the Clubhouse saving a lot of money.  Betty reported that Rick Maag mentioned last week the cost was somewhere around $3500.  The Bingo Bank has $2500 to put towards that now so we will be looking to the Clubs or anyone that would like to donate something to the $1000 balance.  Betty will be handing out a letter with an explanation and hopefully get the funds needed to complete the project.  So many of our residents enjoy evening Bingo.  Donations will also be gladly accepted from any of you out there as well.  Betty will also post a copy of the letter on the Bulletin Board.  Bingo will go back to the regular time slot in the fall when Sherry Spitz returns.

Betty reported that the Community Garden do NOT need any more gallon milk jugs, only ½ gallon jugs, PLEASE.

There will be a Social Club Agenda meeting after coffee this morning.

Miriam Harcek, Garden Club:  Miriam reported that she has a mystery and she and the Garden Club needs our help.  In the flower beds at the corner of Hawkeye and Sunshine someone has graciously spread mulch on the flowers beds and we do not know who that is.  However, the same little elf that did that also our “snuffalovieus” bush. Which is a very unusual bush with a very unusual flower.  Unfortunately, someone trimmed it which was not needed.  It was dormant not dead.  If you are the person who put the mulch down, they would like to thank you. If you are the person who stripped our “snuffalovius” we would like to know that also.

Bob Schmitz, Dance Committee:  The Dance Committee will have a Dance on Saturday, March 12, from 7pm to 10 pm.  Tickets are $5 per person.  Too Smooth will be here to provide the music for dancing and your enjoyment.
