Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we can thank the Dan & Wanda Glaze and Gary & Sally Bachowski in appreciation of all the helpers during hurricane Ian for our pastries. And, when someone pays for the donuts and muffins the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.
Dave Parker, Empire, was taken to the hospital yesterday by ambulance. He could possibly be home today. Dave & Pam need our prayers
Charlene Link, Pelican, is also in the hospital. I have no further information at this time.
Gina DiPaolo, Sycamore, is a teacher at Ridge Community High School which is located on the boundary line between Davenport and Haines City on Orchid. There are over 2000 children that attend her school. Gina teaches 40 less fortunate 12th graders. Last month we supplied her children with a box of supplies and she was very grateful. Her students are in need of personal hygiene items – tooth paste, tooth brushes, deodorant, shampoo, hair brushes, wipes, sanitizers and any other item that would help these kids. We will put a container in the front room labeled for any donation you can help Gina with these items that meet the needs of these students.
The Quilt Club will again put up their Christmas tree in the front room. The ornaments on the tree will have a nonperishable food item that they are asking you to bring back and place under the tree and put the ornament back on the tree for someone else to take and purchase the item. These nonperishable food items will be taken to House Blest in Haines City on December 15 for distribution to the needy residents of Haines City. Monetary gifts will also be accepted to purchase turkeys and hams. House Blest is a food pantry that is sponsored by the Haines City churches.
Darrell Michelson, son-in-law of Sarah Mauk, formerly on Sycamore, dies recently in South Dakota. Please keep Connie and Sarah in your thoughts and prayers.

The bad news is that we did have to declinators to start putting them in place, but so many of them we blown down during hurricane Ian that they had to use those to replaced the damaged ones. New ones have been ordered and he is hoping that they will be in and installed in by the end March. Cathy was hoping for January, but these other intersections come first. They are coming!!!

Thought for the week
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds us to give thanks and to count our blessings.
Suddenly, so many things become so little when we realize how blessed and lucky, we are.
