Lake Region Coffee News – February 16, 2023
Jayne Jones was the MC today
Attendance – 307
Before Coffee this morning we honored Sara on her retirement. Appreciation was expressed for her many years as an Administrative Assistant in the LRV Office. Thank you, Sara, Thanks for all that you have done for all of us!!
Opening prayer lead by Ree Enlow.
Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: There were no new residents this morning for Kim to introduce.
Visitors: There were no visitors today
Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we can thank the Social Club in honor of Sara for both are donuts and muffins and our coffee and tea this morning. We wish her health and happiness as she moves into her retirement.
The only health concern I have to announce this am is Marlene Law, Oak Trail, is still at Haines City Rehab as she continues to heal from her knee surgery.
Since that is the only news I have this morning I decided to add a couple of personal joys and concerns:
· Our first great grandson, Peyton, was 16 months old this week and he has finally taken his first steps. I always have a picture of him on my home screen of my phone and will gladly show you the picture and bore you with stories about him.
· Next, if you missed the show Tuesday night sponsored by the Dance Committee. You missed a good one. Cliff Erickson was fantastic and our guest performers, our own Heather Smith and the Mikolayek adopted daughter, Alexis Smith were unbelievable. The Dance Committee is going to bring Cliff back again next year so don’t miss it.
· Finally, a little “Rants and Raves” here this morning. Last evening at about 7:30 pm Bruce and I were coming back to the Park on 27 coming from the south. Bruce pulled into the left turn lane to enter LRV. There were 2 cars waiting at the entrance of LRV to go north on 27. Before we could make our turn into the Park, one of the cars pulled out of LRV and completely blocked our view of incoming traffic. If that was not bad enough, the second car then also pulled out of LRV and stopped in the medium on the left side of the other car. Now we have three cars in the medium and not one of us can get a good view of the traffic on 27 either way. I don’t understand what people don’t understand about “One car in the medium at a time”. Come on people we had another accident out there this week. Thank God it did not involve anyone here in the park, but one of the drivers had to be airlifted. For Heaven sakes people, we are retired, take a little more time and put only “One car in the medium”.
