Before Coffee this morning we were entertained by Michael Jorgensen with songs to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Coffee was begun this am with an opening prayer lead by Ree Enlow.
Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: There were no new residents this morning for Kim to introduce.
Visitors: Jayne Jones, Empire, introduced her granddaughter and grandson in law, Kyla and Robert Corey and their great granddaughters, Harper, Laken, and Myla from Scottown, Ohio; and Judy Shaw, Aloha, introduced their daughter and son in law, Beth and Jeff, from Marysville, Ohio
Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we can thank Melody Jones in memory of two very wonderful ladies – Jo Johnston whose birthday was February 19 and Mary Juergens whose birthday was February 17 for our donuts and muffins. And when someone pays for the pastries, the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.
Marlene Law has been moved from the hospital to Haines City Rehab on Tenth Street in Haines City.
I received the following note in my email this week: “I wish to thank all the residents of LRV for all the cards and condolences I have received with the passing of Dottie” -- Bob Minnich
There will be a Social Club Meeting today immediately following Coffee. I hope you will all plan to attend.
The Quilt Club yearly raffle has started (12 table runners, 12 table toppers and 2 quilts) and will continue to March 8 when the winners will be announced. Tickets are 6 chances for $5 or one chance for $1. This is our only fundraiser this year.
I received word this morning of the passing of Virgil Kohler, Hawkeye, this week in Ohio. Virgil was 82 years old and her passed on Wednesday, February 8, He is survived by his wife LaDonna, 5 children – Lisa, Cynthia, William, Timothy and Lori; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held in Wapakoneta, OH on Monday, February 13. Cards and words of sympathy can be sent to LaDonna at 12416 Canning Factory Rd., Wapakoneta, OH 45895

Marcia Besser, Out of Park Activities: Marcia announced that she will be on a cruise next week and will not be here for Coffee. There will be 2 trips going out – one on Thursday and one on Friday. Nancy Hanacek, Hawkeye, will post the times for departure.
Announcements
Jayne reminded for those who have already signed up for the Basket Class taught by Donnell Ralph, Badger, on Monday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 15 from 9 am to 11 am; and also on Monday, February 20 if needed. You need to bring towel, clothes pin, scissors, needle-nosed pliers, side cutters, long skinny screw driver. Cost for the class will need to be paid at the first class.
Cribbage will be held Friday night in Card Room starting at 6 pm.
Patti Gaudreau: Patti reminded us at the Visitor Center at Route 27 and I4 there will be a Spring Training celebration as well as buy one get one tickets for Bock Tower this Saturday, February 11. First 300 people will get a free t-shirt.
Betty Akerman: Haystack Dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 22. Only 30 tickets are left. If interested, contact Betty
Also, the Carport Sale will be Saturday, March 4. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be sold at the Clubhouse. To go order can be set up with Betty. Betty has the name of a person who will come and pick up left overs from your sales. She has posted his card on the Board if you are interested.
The Poker Run will be held on Friday, March 10 at 2 pm followed by the Pateo serving their chili cheese hot dogs.
Jinx Rogers: Tomorrow the Pateo Group will be serving their chili cheese dogs. It is still

Dawn Traina, Vets & Friends: Dawn announced that Vets and Friends there will be a trip to Lakeland on March 8 to the Spring Training Game. LRV Vet Fred Galbraith will be honored and will throw out the first pitch. People will be carpooling and the cost is $65.
Flag burning ceremony will be Monday, February 20 at the Fire Pit followed by lunch at the Hammock.
Vets Dinner will be Saturday, March 4 at 4pm. Tickets are on sale; they are $12. Menu will be roasteries chicken mashed potatoes, vegetable, and strawberry shortcake.
Sharyn Eaton, Dance Committee: Sharyn announced the Dance Committee will be sponsoring two wonderful events in February. On February 14 we will sponsor a show with Cliff Erickson (many of us saw him last year). Don’t miss this show. We will also have two guest singers – our own Heather Smith and a guest entertainer Alexa Smith. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the door before 6:45 pm so that everyone can be seated by 6:55 pm. Please sign the back of your ticket for a door prize.
Donna Williams, Craft Club: The Craft Club has two meeting every week. Friday Craft group will be making a decoupage plate. You need to bring fabric (9” x9”), scissors, hair dryer. They meet at 1 pm in the Card Room. Also, they meet on Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm. They knit hats. They have an abundance of hats right now that they would like to donate. If anyone would like to take some back north to donate, contact Donna or any member of the Craft Club.
Brenda Rollins, Board of Directors: Brenda reminded everyone about the “Meet the Candidates” today here in the Clubhouse at 1 pm. Hope all will attend.
Also, she informed us that she has completed updating emails so everyone should be getting emails if they turned in the form. If you are not receiving them, contact Brenda.
Brenda reminded us that garbage goes out on Tuesday. You can put your garbage out after 6 pm on Monday (not only Friday, Saturday or Sunday). Also parking on your grass is not allowed. Andy when you leave at the end of the season, please be sure you have your bushes cut back, also flowers. They will come back.
And, next Thursday is Sarah’s last day. She will be here at Coffee from 8 – 8:30. You will have an opportunity to wish her well and say your good byes. There will be a basket for cards. If you are not able to attend, you can give your card directly to Sarah or drop it off at 213 and Brenda will make sure it gets in the basket.
Margie Hoye, Park Ministries: Margie announced that on Sunday, February 19, at 6 pm the Garms Family Singers will be here in the Clubhouse. They are a Christian music group from Wisconsin. They travel through Florida during the winter. It is a family of 8 (mom & dad and 6 kids). The play all acoustical instruments and perform gospel music. It will be a fun night.
Al Granato, Corn Hole: Al announced his second fundraiser for the Corn Hole Club. They will be raffling four $50 prizes; tickets are $5 apiece and a limited amount will be sold. These tickets will be sold thru the first Thursday in March when the winners will be pulled. You do not need to be present to win.
Dan Schrauben, Golf: Dan announced there will be a Golf Banquet on Sunday, February 26 at 5 pm. Dinner will be at 6 pm, lots of door prizes and, of course, at 50/50. The menu will be roast pork. Tickets will be available next week at Coffee until they sell out. Tickets will be $12 per person.
Linda Harness, Kentucky Night: Linda announced that tickets for Kentucky Night is sold out. Kentucky Night will be Saturday, February 25. Taste of Kentucky will start at 5 pm; meal at 6 pm followed by music by Bob Fore starting at 7 pm. Reserved seating will be scheduled on February 21 from 9 am to 11 am. Only one person from your group will need to come; bring all the tickets from group to pick out where you would like to sit. Make sure you have signed the back of your ticket. There will be door prizes.
Steve Taylor, Garden Club: Steve announced that the Garden Club needs helpers to plant two trees at the Hammock and also a couple of Norfolk pines. Come and help.
Tom Pomroy: Tom announced the Sentimental Journey Barbershop Quartet that he is a part of. If anyone would like to have a group come to sing to your spouse (or anyone) at your house, a restaurant, anywhere, they come and provide a song, a rose, chocolate. If you want more information, contact Tom at 814-659-6592.
Ree Enlow: Ree announced for the Election Committee of the Social Club. Nomination are being accepted for 4 places on the Social Club Board. The people holding the positions of president, secretary, treasurer and director terms are up; however, those want to be part of the Social Club Board do not run for a specific office (that will be decided after the election). If you are interested in serving on the Social Club Board your resume needs to be posted on the Social Club Board in the Card Room by March 2 or give it to Ree.
Rick Maag, Boat Club: Last Friday, the Boat Club sponsored “Dish the Fish”. Rick thanked everyone who attended. It was a super huge success. Thanks to the people who helped and the HamJammers who entertained.
Also, St Patrick’s Day Celebration is coming up on Saturday, March 18, at the Hammock. We are again doing cake walk. They are in need of cakes, pies and brownies. There is a sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the week hall. If you donate, please drop off at the Hammock before 10 am that day, and please note if it is gluten free, has nuts or sugar free on the item.
Lanny Hegadorn, HamJammers: HamJammers will be preforming today at 3 pm down at the Pateo. Take a golf cart ride down and come and enjoy the music.
Shirley Moore, Red Hatters: This month they are going to go to Olive Garden in Winter Haven on February 21st; they will be departing at 11:30 am. Shirley is looking for red hats if you have one in your closet. New ladies are always welcome to join. They would love to have some door prizes donations
Marilyn Mackie, Election: Marilyn announced the Election is two weeks away. Doors will not be opened until 10 am on Tuesday, February 28 to come and vote, but before 1 pm. You can vote and registered between 10 am and 1 pm. The meeting is at 1 pm. You can also drop your ballot in the box up at the Office. We need a quorum for the meeting.
Mabel & Pearl, Church Ladies: Church Ladies announced that Bandoliers show will be Sunday, March 5, at 7 pm here in the Clubhouse. The theme this year will be “TV Shows from the 50’s & 60’s”. This is a time when you had to get up and turn the channel all by yourself. It is a free show. Guaranteed to be lots of laughs
