Jayne Jones was the MC today

Attendance – 271

Coffee was begun this am with an opening prayer lead by Ree Enlow.

Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: There were no new residents this morning for Kim to introduce.

Visitors:  Sunny Cave, former resident on Sunflower, was a visitor today from Indiana.  Bob Minnich introduced his daughter, Vickie and son, Bob, visiting from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Tom Pomroy introduced their friend, Lynn Milesco, from Weaver, PA.

Shari Haines, Serendipity:  Today we can thank Michael Wilcox, Roger’s Wilcox’s son, in memory of Mary Wilcox who passed on January 10, 2017, for our donuts and muffins.  And when someone pays for the pastries, the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.

I received the following note from Wanda Murphy, Keystone:  Thank you to all my friends and neighbors for the prayers and concerns while I was in the hospital.  Recovery is slow, but I’m getting better.

And also from Pam Lefevre, Empire:  I would like to take the opportunity to thank Beth & Mike Mikolayek and Bob & Carol Schmidt for planning and hosting Dave’s “Celebration of Life”.  I would also like to thank those who helped make the day so special; Heather Smith & Mike & Bonnie Jorgensen for the beautiful music; Ree Enlow for the opening prayer; the Shuffleboard Club for providing refreshments; all of Dave’s friends who shared stories and memories; and Rev Dr Phil Granger for his inspirational words and prayers.  Mike Mikolayek said to me at the service. “Pam, remember that Lake Region is your family.”  You have shown to me so much love and support with visits, cards, food, and donation for a tree in Dave’s memory.  My love to all.

Marlene Law, Oak Trail, is having knee surgery this afternoon at Winter Haven Hospital.

I received notice this week of the death of Kathleen Putori on January 29 in Washington, PA.  Kathie and Carmen were snowbirds here at LRV for 14 years at 410 Golden Lane.  Kathie was 82 years old.  She preceded in death by her husband Carmen.   She is survived by two sons, Eric and Donald and a daughter, Linda; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

I am very sorry to announce the death of Dottie Minnich on Saturday at her home here in LRV.  Dottie would have been 87 years old on Sunday.  Dottie & Bob have been married for 66 years.  She is survived by three children, Vickie, Robert, Jr and Terry; also 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  We will always remember Dottie as our “hat lady”.  Her sales pitch was always that “the hats are on sale today $9.99 originally $10.  And she always introduced herself as “Dottie on Peacock with fisherman Bob.

A moment of silence in honor of Kathie Putori and Dottie Minnich

Thought for the week

One hand can lift a soul;

One word can frame a goal;

One candle can wipe out darkness;

One laugh can conquer gloom;

One hope can raise your spirits;

One touch can show you care;

One life can make the difference, be that One Day.
