Lake Region Coffee News – February 23, 2023
Jayne Jones was the MC today
Attendance – 225
Opening prayer lead by Ree Enlow.
Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: There were no new residents this morning for Kim to introduce.
Visitors: Lois Aldefer introduced her son and daughter in law from Indiana and Ralph Dick introduced his sister from Ohio.
Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we have to thank Charles “Whitey” Allen in celebration of his78th birthday on February 26th and Julie Jahn in celebration of her 80th birthday on February 18th for our donuts and muffins. And when someone pays for the pastries, the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.
First of all, the little Band-Aid on my nose was not the result of Bruce hitting me and I did not fall. Just a little trip to the dermatologist this week. I guess I am paying for all those years in the sun without sunscreen.
Donna Stapleton. Oak Trail, had knee replacement surgery yesterday. She texted me this morning early that everything went well and she is home doing wonderful. I sure Bob will be a wonderful nurse.
I am very sad to report that Robert “Bobby” Hawk was found dead in his home on last Friday afternoon. Bobby would have turned 60 years old in August this year. He is survived by a sister and his many, many friends here at LRV. He always rode around on his golf cart with his left foot hanging off, greeting everyone with his own nickname for us. There will be a memorial service for Bobby here in the Clubhouse on Monday, March 20 at 1 pm.
Since we do not have a piano player this morning, we will have a real moment of silence in honor of Robert “Bobby” Hawk.
Just another reminder – there was another accident out front this week – “One Car in the Median” at a time; and also, walker should walk facing traffic.
