Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: Kim announced that our own Nick Romanow, Sycamore, is now making our name tags. If you need a new one, they are now only $5 each. There were no new residents this morning.
Visitors: Roger Wilcox introduce his #2 son, Michael and his wife Pat from New York. Gyspy Leicht, Peacock, introduced her cousin, Nita, from Chicago, IL
Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we got to pay for our own pastries as well as the coffee and tea.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Dave Parker, Empire, on Sunday, January 22 at 1 pm in the Clubhouse.

Marcia Besser, Out of Park Activities: Some of the Park activities has been posted on the Out of Park Bulletin Board making some confusion. Marcia will be glad to give an area for overflow flyers to Park activities, but please keep them in one location. If you are interested in the trips to the Tiger Spring Training games in Lakeland, you must sign up asap. Right now, there are not enough signed up for it to go. January 31 at 10 am, C J will be here to give information regarding cruises. This is an opportunity to come and meet with her and get information on the cruises. If you are signed up for a trip and you want to go, you need to pay. Everything is due.

Jim announced that Woodcarvers will meet this afternoon at the Hammock at 1 pm; Art Club will meet in the Card Room on Thursday at 5 pm; and the Bloodmobile will be here in the Park on January 30 at 9 am – 2 pm (Questions contact Mary Smelser).
Heather Smith, Pickleball: Heather introduced Bea & Harold who offering free lessons at the Pickleball Court on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:00 at the Pickleball Court. If you want to sign up there is a sheet just inside the Card Room. Heather says “you will literally have a ball!!”
Patti Gaudreau: Patti told us of free offerings at the Visitor Welcome Center at 27 & I4. On February 11, Spring Training Day, they will be giving t-shirts to the first 300 that come in. Also, will have buy one get one free Bock Tower Tickets on that day.
Barb Norsen: Newsletter deadline is tomorrow (1/20) at noon – no later. Barb reminded us to sign up for Potluck in February. The sign-up sheet is in the west hall. Social Club membership drive continues thru the month of January. Memberships are only $5 per person. If you don’t join, we will be knocking on your door.
Melinda Cole, Spanish Club: Melinda announced that second semester of the Spanish Club will start on today (1/19) from 1 – 3 pm in the Card Room. They will continue on Mondays and Thursdays at 1 pm in the Card Room through March 9. No matter your knowledge of Spanish you are welcome. Signup sheet on the Bulletin Board
Margie Hoye: Margie reminded us that church services are held every Sunday morning at
8 am in the Clubhouse. On Sunday, January 22, at 6 pm there will be a Gospel Concert presented by Mark 5 from Orlando in the Clubhouse.
Jinx Rogers: The Pateo Group is sponsoring a Spring Fling Dance on Saturday, March 25. Music will be provided by DJ’s Jamie and Michelle. Tickets go on sale on March 2 at Coffee; they will be $10. There will be no tickets sold at the door. “Dress up, dress down, dress comfortable!” More information later.
Donna Williams, Craft Club: The Craft Club has two meeting every week Friday Craft group will be make little angels. They meet at 1 pm and try to get it done by 3 pm. Supplies that you need to bring is a glue gun with glue sticks. Scissors, pipe cleaners (all other supplies have been ordered). Also, they meet on Tuesday afternoon at 1 pm. They knit hats. There is a sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the west hall.
Kathy Taylor, Shuffleboard: Shuffleboard is up and running. Everyone is welcome. If you need instructions, come up on Wednesday mornings at 10 am. There will be several people there to give instructions. Come join them on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. On Mondays they play Horsecollar. Also, Kathy urged those interested in painting to check out the Art Club on Thursday at 5 pm.
Dan Schrauben, Golf: Dan runs the Wednesday morning Golf League that plays at Cypresswood on Wednesdays. If you are interest, see Dan after Coffee. Also, there will be a Golf Banquet on Sunday February 26 at 5 pm. Dinner will be at 6 pm, lots of door prizes and, of course, at 50/50. Tickets will be available next week at Coffee or from the other groups (Dave Swearingen, George Taylor, Paul Serveau and Dan will have tickets). Tickets will be $12 per person. Finally, Paul Serveau is having his big annual scramble on Feb10 at Sun & Lake in Sebring. Contact Paul at 407-750-3414. Cost is $55 which includes lunch.
Betty Akerman: Tomorrow the Scavenger Hunt at the Hammock will be held at 1:30 pm. Rules will be explained and then you will have 1 ½ hours to complete the hunt. The cost to participate in the Hunt is $5. This a fund raiser for Hammock Improvement Fund. A baked potato and chili supper will be served following the Scavenger Hunt. The cost will be $6 for the meal. In case of rain, we will be here in the clubhouse if it is pouring down rain, just sprinkles it will be at the Hammock as planned. Any changes will be publicized on Facebook.
Betty announced will be another Poker Run on Friday, February 10, at 1 pm. The cost to participate is $5. It will be followed by Pateo people serving their chili cheese dogs. This again will be a fundraiser for the Hammock Improvement Fund. After the Poker run the Pateo will be serving their Chili/Cheese Dogs
One more – the Haystack Dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 5 pm in the Clubhouse. Ticket will be sold in advance starting on February 2 at Coffee. They will be $10. All information is available on the Bulletin Board, Facebook and the new marquee.
Also, regarding the Hammock Improvement Fund, our big goal is to get all the money raised and the project completed by the St Patrick’s Day Celebration
Carport Sale will be held on Saturday, March 4. More information will be available soon.
Dave Bland, Horseshoe: Dave reminded is that Horseshoes are played Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Monday have practice at 8:30 am with games beginning at 9 am. On Wednesday we play at 10 am. Everyone is welcome. There is a set of horseshoes out for anyone who wants to practice. Dave also thanked everyone for their aluminum can they set out. Do not crush them and have them out by 9 am on Wednesdays. On Saturday they have donuts. Come up and see what it is all about.
Leah Richards: Next Thursday will be the last chance for you to get a chance on the 13 table runners. The winner will be pulled next Thursday morning at Coffee. Proceeds from this fund raiser will go to World Central Kitchen who are feeding the Ukraine soldiers.
. Shirley Moore, Red Hatters: The Red Hatters are going to go the Sizzlin Grill on Tuesday, January 24. There is a time change for next Tuesday. We will be leaving the Clubhouse at 12 noon not 11:30 am as previously announced.
Mike Mikolayek, Dance Committee: Mike reminded us that there will be Karaoke with Rockin’ Robin on Saturday, January 21, from 7 – 10 pm. Ed Pickereign will be our special guest. Tickets are $5 per person and will be sold at the door. Bring your tablecloths, snacks and drinks and come and enjoy. Also, the Dance Committee will have Cliff Erickson here on February 14 at 7 pm to perform. Tickets are $5 and are available at Coffee and at the door.
Also, money has been raised for the new audio and video for the Clubhouse. The many clubs and committee made donations. Lanny Hegadorn is going to describe what is going to be done.
Lanny Hegadorn, Audio Visual Committee: The committee consists of Chuck Enlow (chair), Chuck Holtz, Nick Romanow (sound expert) and Lanny. The Clubhouse is going to look pretty spectacular. The equipment is here and they are just waiting on the electrician the power they need. All the lights in the ceiling in front of the stage will be replaced. They will be LED multicolored lights individually controlled. The camera in the back of the room is being replaced. A new sound board is arriving soon with a computer. They will also be able to control the Bingo board with the computer. The camera will be able to record all our programs, we will be able to have a “super bowl party” with projection on a screen that will come down from the ceiling. We will be able to live project meetings on Facebook live. Everything will be automated and controlled from the sound booth. This place will “knock your socks off”. Researching this project Chuck and Lanny were over at Winter Haven Theater. They showed them all light system, made recommendations as to what we need. They are going to do all the installations themselves, saving a lot of labor cost. Just waiting for the electrician to run the power.
Lanny Hegadorn, Canada Night: Canada Night is Saturday, February 4, with appetizers at 5 pm and dinner at 5:30 pm. Table reservations will be arranged on Friday, January 27. Bring your own table settings and cup.
Don Flett, Vets & Friends: There will be a flag disposal on February 18 at 11 am at the Fire Pit. If you have a flag that needs to be dispose, please drop it off at the Office. Following the ceremony lunch will be served at the Hammock. Hamburgers, chips and water will be served. Tickets can be purchased at Coffee or from Gregg Palmer, 333 Aloha Drive, 863-353-1898 from Don at 364 Badger, 315-596-0722, until Monday the 13th. Limited tickets will be available at the Hammock for $7. There will be a 50/50 available,
Bob Schmidt: There will be a Celebration of Life for Dave Parker on Sunday, January 22, at 1 pm in the Clubhouse. It will be hosted by Beth & Mike Mikolayek, Bob & Carol Schmidt, and the Lake Region Shuffleboard Committee. If you have amusing story about Dave, please come. We will pass the microphone around for people to share. Donations can be made to the Garden Club. They are going to purchase an oak tree in the Hammock and put a plaque at the base. Hope to see you on Sunday.
Rick Maag, Boat Club: Rick thanked everyone who came to the Boat Club Breakfast last Saturday. On Friday, February 3, the Boat Club is going to try something different. At the Hammock on the 3rd, they are going to “Dish the Fish”. You will get two pieces of either flounder or tilapia (not decided yet), boiled potato, cole slaw, rye bread and water. The cost will be $7.
March 11 the Boat Club will be hosting the Fishing Tournament. It will be from 8 am until 2 pm. More information will be available soon.
St Patrick’s Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 18 at the Hammock. Many volunteers are needed. You may be called to ask you to help. It is usually a 2-hour commitment. There will be a golf cart parade in the morning. Serving will start at the Hammock at 11 am. There will be games and music at the Hammock all day ending the “Pot of Gold”. It is a lot of fun. Volunteers are needed and come out an enjoy the fund!! If you have questions, please contact Rick at 419-722-3330.
Jack Gerros, Entertainment Committee: Jack asked if we liked the show on Tuesday night. It was an awesome show. They have reports that they laughed so hard their ribs hurt. It was needed. The fill in fellow was wonderful. Tickets are not on sale for next show. It will be Johnny Rogers. Johnny is a second cousin to Elvis. He is an unbelievable entertainer. A big thanks to all the volunteers who help to set up the hall. Also, our sound crew is one of the best around. See you at the next show,
Mike Wilcox, Roger’s son: Mike invited us all to a birthday party for Roger. It will be his 95th birthday. The Celebration Birthday Party will be held here in the Clubhouse on Saturday, February 18th at 11 am. Reservations would be appreciated by February 11th and can be made with Stephanie at 607-434-0635. That is Stephanie Weick’s phone number and she is Roger’s granddaughter.
Joe Tersigni, Bridge Club: There is a Bridge Club here at LRV that meets every Monday mornings from 10 am until noon. It is lead by Ellen & Russell Markey. If anyone plays bridge and want to help teacher or if anyone would like to learn the game of bridge (challenge their brain), everyone is welcome. It is great game!!
