Coffee was began this am with an opening prayer lead by Rea Enlow.
Kim Eickelschulte, New Residents: Kim introduced Dawn Scheurer and Gary Churchill, new snowbird residents at 348 Badger from Michigan.
Visitors: Trudy Roser, Mustang, introduced their friend, Bill Barner, from Shelbyville, IN. Linda Meyer, Blue Grass, introduced Char & Ken Schneider from Reavis, MI.
Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we got to pay for our own pastries as well as the coffee and tea.
I am happy to report that Wanda Murphy, Keystone, is now home. She came home on Saturday and is recuperating at home.
Char Link, Pelican, has started chemo treatment. She definitely needs our prayers.
Kathy Putori, former resident at 418 Golden is in hospice care. Cards can be sent to Kathy at 675 Shirls Avenue, Washington, PA
I am sorry to report the death of David Parker, 69 Empire Terrace. Dave was 80 years old. He has lived here in LRV since 2007. He is survived by his partner, Pam Lefevre; a son, Brian; a daughter, Roxanne; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Dave’s ashes will be returned to Vermont.
A moment of silence in honor of Dave Parker.

Marcia Besser, Out of Park Activities: Marcia reported that the trip to Orange Blossom Opera is leaving at 3 pm; the Tampa Bay Downs trip is leaving at 9:15 am. If anybody is sign up for a trip in January, February or March, you need to get these trips paid for as soon as possible.

Jim announced that Woodcarvers will meet this afternoon at the Hammock at 1 pm
Melinda Cole, Spanish Club: Melinda announced that second semester of the Spanish Club will start on Thursday, January 19 at 1 pm in the Card Room. They will continue on Mondays and Thursdays at 1 pm in the Card Room through March 9. No matter your knowledge of Spanish you are welcome. Signup sheet on the Bulletin Board.
Jinx Rogers: Jinx announced that the Chili/Cheese Dog dinner on Friday night will be held here in the Clubhouse because of weather with serving starting at 4 pm for $5.
Also, the Pateo Group is sponsoring a Spring Fling Dance on Saturday, March 25. Music will be provided by DJ’s Jamie and Michelle. Tickets go on sale on March 2 at Coffee; they will be $10. There will be no tickets sold at the door. “Dress up, dress down, dress comfortable!” More information later.
Barb Norsen: Barb reminded us to sign up for Potluck in February. The sign-up sheet is in the west hall.
Social Club membership drive continues thru the month of January. Memberships are only $5 per person. If you don’t join, we will be knocking on your door. Also, don’t forget our Social Club Meeting after Coffee this morning. There be a guest speaker regarding insurance on manufactured homes.
Linda Harness, Kentucky Night: Kentucky Night will be having an organization meeting immediately following Coffee this morning in the Card Room.
Donna Williams, Craft Club: The Craft Club has two meeting every week. On Tuesdays at 1 pm we meet in the Card Room and we knit hats. All hats are donated and all the yarn is donated. Hats have been donated all over America, Canada and even Romania. Keep us in yarn and we will make hats. On Fridays at 1 pm we do different things. Last week we made no sew blankets. We made 9 blankets for donation. This week they are going to me ceramic coasters. There is a sign-up sheet in the west hall.
Betty Akerman & Joanne Maag: They announced the Scavenger Hunt at the Hammock on Friday, January 20, at 1:30 pm. The cost to participate in the Hunt is $5. This a fund raiser for Hammock Improvement Fund. A baked potato and chili supper will be served following the Scavenger Hunt. The cost will be $6 for the meal. Please sign up by Monday on the bulletin board in the west hall.
Betty Akerman: Betty announced will be another Poker Run on Friday, February 10, at 1 pm. The cost to participate is $5. It will be followed by Pateo people serving their chili cheese dogs. This again will be a fundraiser for the Hammock Improvement Fund. After the Poker run the Pateo will be serving their Chili/Cheese Dogs
One more – the Haystack Dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 5 pm in the Clubhouse. Ticket will be sold in advance starting on February 2 at Coffee. They will be $10. All information is available on the Bulletin Board, Facebook and the new marquee.
Irene Bland, Christmas Decorating Committee: Irene introduced her Committee – David Bland, Patti Smith (Island Decorating) & Smitty, Cle & Pat Leask, and Deb & Marv Pease; also, Don Meyer, Jim Blincoe, Jerry & Rosie Hesseling, Mike & Noreen Novak and Mike Jensen. Irene also thanks all the volunteers. They could not do it without all the help.
Andrea Wessel, Dance Committee: Andrea reminded us that there will be Karaoke with Rockin’ Robin on Saturday, January 21, from 7 – 10 pm. Bring your tablecloths, snacks and drinks and come and enjoy,
Mike Mikolayek, Social Club & Dance Committee: Mike told us that at Karaoke Dance on the 21st we will be honoring Ed Pickereign. He fell on New Years Eve and was not able to perform. On the 21st he will be Frank Sinatra.
Mike announced at Social Club Meeting this morning we will have a guest speaker representing 7 different insurance companies. He will have a lot of information regarding the insurance of manufactured homes.
Mike announced that on February 14 at 7 pm his friend from Port Huron, MI will be here to perform again. Tickets will be $5. Please join us
Lanny Hegadorn, Canada Night: Lanny announced that tickets for Canada Night are on sale this morning and will continue to be available on Thursdays at Coffee until they are sold out. Canada Night will be held on Saturday, February 4. It will be a dinner/dance; appetizers at 5, dinner at 5:30. Reserve seating will be arranged on Friday, January 27 at 9 am.
No longer need to save your non-winning 50/50 tickets. They have enough!!!
Don Flett, Vets & Friends: There will be a flag disposal on February 18 at 11 am at the Fire Pit. Following the ceremony lunch will be served at the Hammock. Hamburgers, chips and water will be served for $6.
. Shirley Moore, Red Hatters: The Red Hatters are going to go the Sizzlin Grill on Tuesday, January 24. There is a sign-up sheet on the Bulletin Board. Meet at the Clubhouse at 11:30 am on the dot!! In February we will be going to the Olive Garden.
Jen Sible, Bingo: Jenn reminded us that Bingo is back on Thursday nights. Starts at 6 pm, please be there by 5:30 pm; they stop sales at 5:45 pm. Also bring a plastic placemat to protect the tables.
Rick Maag, Boat Club: Rick reminded us that this coming Saturday, January 7, 7:30 am – 9 am, the Boat Club will have their Boat Club Breakfast. The menu will include sausage and gravy with biscuits, eggs, pancakes and fruit. Tickets will be available at the door for $6.00.
Also, if you are a dock/slip owner in the marina, there will be a meeting in the Card Room at approximately 11 am
The person who has headed up the Fishing Tournament the last few years is not able to do it. If any one is interest in heading this up, please contact Rick.
Al Granato, Corn Hole: The annual Corn Hole Fundraiser for maintenance on the facilities and needs is not complete and winners will be pulled. $50 gift card to six different local restaurants – Manny’s, Sizzlin Grill, Crazy Fish, Harry’s Old Place, and Cherry Pocket will be awarded.
