Trash Talk:  Last week he got several calls that the garbage was not picked up.  We have a contract with a garbage hauler that does not use the big truck/compactor rigs.  These are hard on our streets and when they run the compactor the liquid is left on our street in front of your homes.  Therefore. They use a car and trailer to pick up our trash.  That is why garbage is not to be put in the large garbage containers; your garbage needs to be bagged.  

 

They will not pick up unbagged (loose) garbage.  

Use the big kitchen bags not “Walmart” bags. The stinky garbage must be bagged and will be picked up on Tuesday.  

 

Yard waste also is acceptable (grass clippings must be bagged).  Make sure all items are in bags!!!  

 

Acceptable bulk items are: sofa, recliners, chairs, small entertainment center, small size furniture and appliances (limited to one bulk item per week and 200 lbs or less – something 2 guys can move).  

 

Hazard waste – refrigerators and air conditioners (the gates to the dumpster are now closed).  The first Wednesday of every month refrigerators, air conditioners, etc the garbage people will pick them up.  

 

The cost of having them pick them up is as follows:  

Tires - $15;

Tires with a rim - $20;

Battery - $10;

Refrigerator - $25;

Window air conditioner - $25;

Propane tanks - $20.

If you have any of these items that you want them to pick up on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of the month, you will need to call Glenn with your house number; then you need to put it out in front of your home on that day; and you must be there and you pay them directly.  If you do not call Glenn, it will not be picked up.

Starting on May 1 they will come in on Tuesdays only, except the bulk items which is the first Wednesday.
