Marlin Rowe asked me to announce that Friday night Cribbage is temporarily canceled due to a dramatic rise in the Omicron virus that has started to take off and spread within the park. With our aging membership, any method of transmitting this contagion should be avoided.

(Red Hatters ONLY); Blood Drive will be held on Monday, January 10 from 9 am until 2 pm. Please, everyone, do not come at 9 am. The bus can only take care of 2 people at a time; the Craft Clubs meetings are postponed until further notice due to the number of illnesses in the Park; Art Club will meet tonight. If you have any questions, please call Pat White or Lois Karl; the Christmas Committee will meet tomorrow morning at 8 am to take down the beautiful Christmas decoration. Mary expressed how gorgeous especially when you are come back in the park in the evening.

Betty Akerman, Social Club President: Betty announced that the Craft Fair that was scheduled for the last Saturday in January has been cancelled. Betty thanked Bob Hoyle for his many years of service doing the sound. He has retired. A new committee has been formed to take over the sound booth. That committee is Chuck Enlow (Chairperson), Chuck Holtz, Nick Romano, Lanny Hegadorn, Mike & Bonnie Jorgensen and Roger Tipling. Thanks to those residents for taking on that task. The Social Club Agenda Meeting will be held today immediately following coffee. A meeting of those involved with the Activity Club Fair will be held at 10:30 today. Sally Strait is coordinating this event. Betty is pleased to say the Community Garden is going to take root. The garden structures are set up. If you want to have more information or help, come to the Fire Pit area on Saturday at 11 am. You can now bring those milk jugs that you have been saving. They are going to start planting soon. Volunteers: we still need names on the board for coffee for February and March. We need someone who can play the piano to give Bonnie a rest. Please consider volunteering – come on help out!!

They already had nonperishable food item, diapers, water and clothing, but they did not have any blankets and linens. She read a thank you note from them. Lois told us about two families that they met. It is going to be a long time before they are whole again. Lois thanked everyone for their donations.

You cannot get the flu shot and a booster covid shot at the same time. They must be a week apart. The at home test are not available; everyone is out. If you are symptomatic, you should call your doctor, they can order a test at Quest. Quest is set up in the Walmart parking lot in tents but you need a doctor’s order. You can get tested at Walgreen’s and CVS. Appointments can be made online. In the meantime, it may not be allergies or a cold, stay home and away from people; and wash your hands. We are not going to shut down the Park; if you are not feeling well, stay home.
