Shari announced that Art Club will not meet tonight. They will resume their regular meeting at 6 pm on Thursdays next week.
Jim announced that Corn Hole still have 35 tickets left for their raffle of 5 different $50 gift card to local restaurants. They being sold at Coffee until they are all sold.
Richard Horner: Richard announced church service on Sunday mornings at 8 am in the Card Room. Next Sunday morning Richard will be sharing “what we believe in”.
George Worden, Boat Club: George thanked all the volunteers who helped with the breakfast last Saturday morning; and also, thanks to all who purchased a ticket and came to the breakfast. Boat Club memberships are still available. You don’t have to own a boat to belong to the Boat Club. George urged everyone to become a Boat Club Member and a Social Club Member. Both are good groups that help out the “Village”
Charlene Link: She thanked everyone who came to their Open House on Christmas Eve. Also, tonight Texas Hold’em is played in the Poker/Quilt Room at 6 pm.
Patsy Zumwalt, 5 @ 5: Patsy announced that this Friday night at the Hammock the 5 @ 5 guys will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, chips and water. Remember it is 5 @ 4 this time of the year.
Betty Akerman, Social Club President: Betty had several announcements. First, Carport Sale - Ok hers the new scoop, since the craft show was cancelled, I’m sure so many were looking forward to it and have been working for months and have an inventory of crafts built up. I got the ok from Donna Williams to combine our carport sale with the crafters this year. So, all those who have many items to sell, set yourself & you crafts up in your carport. I will add the information of the craft sale in my newspaper ads. I will make up some flyers if some of you want to distribute them on bulletin boards of other parks or stores. This way everything is out doors. Plus, in Sara’s absence this week I will be taking names and money to reserve tables today after coffee, and tomorrow from 10-11am before yoga. Then it will go back to Sara in the office on Monday.
Next, Community Activity Fair - I mentioned this last week and it will be in the newsletter for February that the fair has been postponed until Monday, February 28th at 3pm to 5pm. If your club or organization hasn’t signed up yet, please do so with Sally Strait. I am in the process of having a program made so the sooner I have that information the better. The fair will be very useful to both the older residents as will the newer ones. It will be a refresher course to all of us on what the social club is all about and everything it and LRV has to offer.
Finally, Election - On January 27, at approximately 10am after coffee, we will be voting on the changing of the by-law in the form of a yes or no vote. It is important that your home get verified by Marilyn Mackey. Only one person in your household can be a shareholder to vote so it’s important to get verified before you vote. If you sign the ballot and are not the shareholder on record you vote will be invalid. Marilyn has been trying to get ahold of a lot of the newer residents who has recently purchased here at LRV with in the last year. So, if she hasn’t called you or you haven’t gotten back to her. She will be at the sales office next week on the 24th from 8:30am to noon. If you’re not sure just check it out with her. Please go get verified it’s an easy thing to forget. On the 27th Marilyn will have several tables set up in the card room beginning at 7:30 am to begin the verifying process of your ballot. It will go on thru coffee until the meeting starts approximately 10am. Once the meeting has officially started no more voting can take place. If you received an email with all the information and printed it out, you can also place your ballot in the box located in the office or mail it in if you’re not here. If you did not get an email with the ballot and explanation of the change in the by-law, I have copies here for you. If you already have one, please do not take one to make sure they get to those who never received one. If we run out here today there will be more available at the office. It my understanding the email system here has not been getting to everyone they send to. You should be getting at least one email a month notifying you of a meeting of sorts etc. If you get nothing then something is not right and you should notify the office. If you don’t say anything they can’t fix it.
Barb Norsen, Newsletter & Potluck: Barb announced that the cut off for the February newsletter is today at noon. If it is not on her clip by noon today it will not go in the newsletter. Barb has posted a signup sheet for two additional tables on the board in the west hallway for potluck. Newsletters will be handed out next Thursday. She will need your help.
Mike Mikolayek, Dance Committee: Mike announced that this Saturday from 7-10 pm we will be having Karaoke. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Come and enjoy the music. Also, on February 8 the Dance Committee is having a “Free Show” at 7 pm. It will be a magic show by Mike’s friend, “Black Magic Joe” and Cliff Erickson will also entertain. There will be limited tickets and they will be “Free”. Ticket will be handed out next starting next Thursday. On February 19 we will have our traditional Valentine’s Dance with Jim and Mandy.
Lanny Hegadorn, Canada Night: Canada Night is coming up. It is a dance only this year. Tickets are available from Barry & Darlene Tait. They are $5.00 each
Jerry Sammon, Board of Directors: Marilyn Mackie will be in the Sales Office on Monday from 8:30 am – noon if you have any questions regarding voting or to pick up a ballot or whatever. Second thing: A little more on “trash”. He is very frustrated. The BOD has a meeting with the trash people a week from tomorrow. They are supposed to be back here today. We have allowed them to pick up on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please be patient. The BOD is trying to resolve this problem.
