Lake Region Coffee News – July 1, 2021

 

Michael Jorgensen was the MC today.

       New Residents, Kim Birch: Kim reintroduced Jamie Moore.  Jamie recently purchased the home at 21 Bluegrass.  He is a full-time resident originally from Connecticut

       Visitors: William & Dan & Pam Young and.  They are here to work on their mother’s (Doris Young) home on Garden

Out-of-Park Activities, Marcia Besser:  There is a new cruise on the board.  It going to the Caribbean in February, 2023.  It is a brand-new ship. For more information, call CJ – numbers are on the Out-of-Park Board.

Shari Haines, Serendipity: Today we can thank Curt Gooch for our donuts and muffins.  They are in celebration of his birthday on July 5.  We also need to thank Maggie Alvera on Mustang for the patriotic cupcakes. And, for those of us lucky enough to get a cookie this morning, they were provided by Corky & Patsy Boyle’s (Pelican) daughter, Kelly.  She has been practicing her decorating skills and wanted to share with us (beautiful job).  Thanks to Curt, Kelly and Maggie.   And, of course, when someone buys the donuts and muffins, the Social Club furnishes the coffee and tea.

Bill Riopel, Buckeye, called to let me know that Evelyn is back in the Heart of Florida Hospital.  She will be placed in an assistant living facility when she is well enough to be discharged.

Jackie Nelson, Blue Grass, fell on June 20th and broke her wrist.  She has surgery on her wrist yesterday.

Bill Bailey, Sunshine, is in Springhill for some additional rehab.   

There will be a sale at the home of Sunny and Roger Cave, 404 Sunflower, on Friday morning at 9:00 am.  They will be selling Roger’s tools and etc.

Announcements

 

       Mary Anne Sammon:  The next Sunday Dinner to Go will be on July 18.  The menu will be sauerkraut, kielbasa, fruit salad, roll and dessert.  Please sign up.  The proceeds go toward the Community Garden.

Barbara Norsen:  Remind us of the Potluck on Tuesday.  The signup sheet is on the Board.  We may even have some entertainment.

       Candy Staebel: Candy will be heading the Emergency Management Committee.  She is looking for volunteers to serve as “Block Captain”. She is in the process of compiling a list of those who need extra help and/or can no longer drive.  These names will be turned into Polk County so that they will be picked up and moved to an appropriate safe place.  Info and forms will be available next week.  Candy is asking for any suggestions or has questions so come and see her.  She lived at 49 Prairie Terrace.
